Floyd Family Campground

Chantilly Farm - The Appalachian Journey

In 2011 David Larsen acted upon a need for a formal gathering place and event center where Floyd County residents and visitors could spread their wings, have a party, or just spend a few days in the great outdoors. What he and his team created was Chantilly farm. The open air event center has since grown to include an event barn, amphitheater and stage, hundreds of primitive camping sites, and rows of RV hookups for even the biggest of rigs. In 2021 Chantilly Farm was sold and renamed Floyd Family Campground.

Only a few minutes drive or bike ride along Franklin Pike to "downtown Floyd," Floyd Family Campground  is a go-to hosting location for many events in Floyd County. Whether its overflow good-timing from the Friday Night Jamboree or events all its own, the farm is an ever-ready host for any need. Nestled near both the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Crooked Road Music Heritage Trail, FFC has grown as a traveling cyclists weekend destination and helped put Floyd County on track to share more and more experiences like The Appalachian Journey with cyclists from far and wide.

Chantilly Farm - The Appalachian Journey

Hundreds of primitive camping spots join full RV hookups, premium camping locations, cabins and heated bath houses across the sprawling fields of FFC. Small communities are as great a part of Appalachian culture as is the larger community and we encourage tent groups and camping communities during The Appalachian Journey. Heck if things start looking rowdy expect some of The Journey staff to slide over and see whats going on, looking to join! We will probably even use the campground wide wifi to share the good times.

If camp-wide wifi isn’t your speed, then several miles of singletrack and doubletrack trail can be explored for Appalachian Journeys of a smaller scale. Once you’re done riding, come into the event barn for food and fellowship courtesy of our sponsors and friends of The Journey.

We are truly excited to be hosting The Journey at Chantilly Farm and are excited to showcase their unique hospitality all weekend. On race day, we will depart Chantilly and get right to gravel within just a few hundred feet.
