In the past couple years, more and more riders are ditching their jersey pockets and camelbaks for on-bike storage. The improved comfort of carrying all your goodies on your frame or handlebars verses the rider's body cannot be understated. When our Journey team sought out a bag partner Nittany Mountain Works was our first stop. Hand made in Philipsburg, PA at the northern end of the Appalachian Mountains, Nittany Mountain have been designing and testing on-board stowage and gear solutions using tried and true materials for years.

In 2018, Nittany and parent company Organic Climbing set out to build a facility to house both brands which was entirely solar powered. What came was a facility which fueled the stoke as much as it payed back into the regional power grid!

The fine folks at Nittany have taken as key an eye to designing awesome products as they have caring for our environment. We have been using their 1/2 frame bag for several months and found that even on the shortest rides its worth its very minimal weight. The right side of a bag opens to a large chamber which has two pockets on the inside wall, we keep plugs, lubricant, Chamois Butt'r single-serve, and a little cash on those pockets so that things aren’t floating around. Two elastic loops secure a frame pump perfectly at the top of the bag, out of the way until its needed. On the left hand side of the bag a long map pocket keeps our trash (ready to be Terracycled when we get home) or our maps always at the ready.
